Theatre Bristol presents the Oscar Wilde comedy classic, “The Importance of Being Earnest” produced by the Theatre Bristol Youth Service Board now through Sunday at the Theatre Bristol ARTspace. After the successes of their previous productions, “Pygmalion” and “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” the YSB is excited to have the opportunity to present this classic play. With the help of their mentors Samanta Gray and Steve Baskett, they’ve put together a truly entertaining comedy. There’s an evening performance tonight at 7:30pm with a Sunday matinee at 2:30pm. Now for something completely different when you take a living history tour of Sinking Spring Cemetery. The tour is available tonight from five till eight pm and is presented by the Historical Society of Washiington County, Virginia. You’ll be taken on a walk through history as guides take you through this picturesque burial ground to meet residents of the area’s past. Interpreters stand at the graveside in period costumes and tell the unique and interesting story of the people who came before us. Each tour lasts about 45 minutes and the last one begins at 7:15pm. Join in on the historic Jonesborough walking tours. Available at 1:00 p.m. every Monday, Friday, and Saturday, these tours will depart from the Chester Inn Museum. Costumed guides will discuss the history of the town, its people, and the lives they built. Tickets are $5.00 per person and can be purchased at the Chester Inn Museum. Enjoy a good meal, some shopping, and a tale or two in the Storytelling Capital of the World. Mark Twain Comes to Theatre Bristol ARTspace

Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer brings it’s adventures to the Theatre Bristol ARTspace, August 25 through September 10. The show is part of Theatre Bristol’s family-friendly 52nd season. 68th Annual Greene County Fair

The 68th Annual Greene County Fair in Greeneville kicks off August 7th and runs through the 13th. There are still Booth Spaces available for intested vendors. There are a limited number of indoor and outdoor booth spaces still up for grabs. Check out for all the details.

Fun Fest Art show Winding Down

Pet Adoption Event PLanned

The Johnson City Public Library is partnering with the Humane Society of Washington County for a pet adoption and education event on Friday, August 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the library’s Jones Meeting Room. You can meet some of the pets available for adoptionand learn about pet care from a Humane Society representative.
